Chongryon Representatives Protest against Japan's Move to Conceal Crimes Related to Forcible Drafting
Pyongyang, October 19 (KCNA) -- Ri Kwang Sang, chairman of the Nagano Prefectural Headquarters of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), and other representatives visited the Nagano City Office of Nagano Prefecture, Japan on Oct. 9. They handed over a written request addressed to the mayor of Nagano City and the head of the city education committee in protest against the move of the Nagano City authorities to revise the content of a board that is hung at the entrance to the underground air-raid shelter "Imperial headquarters in Matsshiro". The shelter indicts the Japanese imperialists for their crimes of forcible drafting in the past.

The city authorities should not conceal the past crimes by removing the expression "forcible" on the board but make a clear probe into the historical facts in those days including the truth about forcible drafting, construction site and living conditions, they said.

Japan deserves denunciation by the international community as it has not made proper apology and reparation for the past crimes, they noted.
