S. Korean Puppet Prosecution Denounced for Violating Academic Freedom

| Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet prosecution sentenced Ri Yong Sop, former chairman of the Association for Supporting Jaju Minbo, to two years in prison and two years of suspension of qualifications, on charges of violation of the "Security Law" on October 16. The prosecution authorities took this action, accusing him of possession of "With the Century", reminiscences of President Kim Il Sung. Protesting against this, Ri held that as a historical researcher, he just studied the revolutionary activities of the President who led the anti-Japanese armed struggle, adding that it is unwarranted to label the study "enemy-benefiting". He blasted the prosecution for violating the academic freedom and the freedom of thought and expression. |
