Researchers in DPRK Strives for Mushroom Cultivation

Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- The Central Mushroom Research Institute under the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK has made a lot of scientific achievements to boost the mushroom production in the country. Ri Son Hui, head of the Institute, told KCNA: When visiting the Institute in October last year, supreme leader Kim Jong Un called for priority to scientific researches in order to put the mushroom production on an industrial basis. In hearty response to his instruction, we researchers have made all possible efforts in researches into mushroom cultivation, producing good results. Over the past one year, the Institute developed new kind of supplementary nutritive compound, established a method of cultivating a new kind of mushroom with bigger efficacy and reared 10-odd strains of mushroom growing well on rice straw. Besides, its researchers developed an environment monitoring and control system and solved many sci-tech problems arising in mushroom cultivation on farms across the country. |
