They are getting evermore pronounced in their anti-reunification confrontation racket just little over two weeks after high-ranking officials of the north and the south promised to improve the relations, the commentary notes, and goes on:

The prevailing situation reminds one of the situation right after the publication of the historic July 4 joint statement when the "yusin" dictator of south Korea desperately kicked up a confrontation racket, crying out for "all-out security" and "establishment of a war posture" under the signboard of "confrontation accompanied by dialogue" and "rivalry accompanied by dialogue." The dictator blustered that they could neither entrust their fate to a few pieces of paper nor trust them.

The implementation of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, both adopted at the north-south summits in the new century, was suspended due to the insincere moves of the south Korean authorities to renege on them.

The nation's desire for mending the inter-Korean relations and the reunification was mercilessly dampened due to acts of treachery committed by a handful of traitors. What does this reality show?

It proves that no matter what good agreement is reached between the north and the south, it is bound to be brought to naught as long as the south seeks a sinister aim, not giving up its wild ambition for confrontation.

This is a serious lesson taught by the history of the inter-Korean relations which has undergone twists and turns because of successive confrontation-seeking regimes in south Korea.

The inter-Korean relations are now standing at the crucial crossroads: Whether to make the seeds of the hard-won dialogue sprout or push them to an uncontrollable catastrophe.

The south Korean authorities would be well advised to properly understand the gravity of the situation and behave themselves.
