Kim Jong Il Prize was awarded to Kim Un Guk, wrestler of the April 25 Sports Team, Om Yun Chol, wrestler of the Amnokgang Sports Team, the title of Labor Hero to Kim Kwang Min, football coach of the April 25 Sports Team, Pak Ki Song, wrestling coach of the April 25 Sports Team, and Ra Un Sim, footballer of the Amnokgang Sports Team, the title of People's Sportsperson to Ho Un Byol, footballer of the April 25 Sports Team, and Order of National Flag First Class to Ri Se Gwang, gymnast of the April 25 Sports Team.

A decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly was promulgated on Oct. 22.
