The Kumgangsan Council of Businessmen in an appeal on Friday denounced the operation as an act of chilling the atmosphere of improving inter-Korean relations, urging the "government" to stop the operation for the safety of the people and improvement of the south-north ties.

120 civic organizations called for foiling the leaflet-scattering operation for the safety of south Koreans, declaring the local residents would join in the sit-in on Oct. 25.

The inhabitants in the area around Rimjin Pavilion in Phaju, Kyonggi Province staged a sit-in from Oct. 23 to 25 to deter conservative organizations from scattering leaflets.

The puppet police checked the struggle of the members of progressive organizations.
