The factory produces different kinds of sportswear, underwear and men's and women's shirts, etc.

Its knitwear products won high appraisal at several annual exhibitions like the Pyongyang Department Store No. 1 commodity exhibition and the national exhibition of August 3 Consumer Goods.

The factory was established in October Juche 52 (1963).

President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il visited the factory on several occasions to underscore the need to raise the level of technical knowledge and skills of its employees in order to make more quality knitwear products.

Pak Sung Ryong, chief engineer of the factory, told KCNA:

Over the past years, the factory invented hundreds of technological innovations and introduced them in production, thus making big contributions to improving quality of products and updating production processes.

The factory has recently invented a method of simultaneously dying a mixture of cotton and tetoron, so as to cut down the hour of dying and increase production nearly two times.

Now the factory has been paying primary efforts to developing new products and upgrading the quality of products.
