V. A. Petrov, chairman of the Russian Association for Friendship and Cultural Cooperation with the DPRK, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to organize such political and cultural events as a remembrance meeting, book and photo exhibition and round-table talks to commemorate the third anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il.
