President Kim Il Sung laid down the proposal for founding the DFRK at the 6th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea in October, 1980, the article said, and went on:

The proposal is the most realistic way for reunifying Korea.

It reflects the desire of the whole Korean nation for peace and reunification.

The DPRK has consistently called for the reunification through the realistic federal formula and worked hard to realize it.

But the south Korean authorities are getting hell-bent on the moves against reunification.

The north and the south agreed to settle the issue of reunifying the country by the concerted efforts of the Korean nation in the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration but the present south Korean authorities are not abandoning their ambition for "unification through absorption".
