A member of the Central Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar was elected chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting, round-table talks, film show and photo exhibition on the occasion of the third anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il.
