DPRK Ratifies Optional Protocol of UN Convention on Children's Rights
Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- The Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK ratified the optional protocol on banning child traffic, prostitution and pornographic literature, annex to the UN Convention on Children's Rights.

A decree of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly on it was promulgated on November 5.

The permanent representative of the DPRK at the UN inked the protocol at the Headquarters of the UN on September 9 on behalf of its government.

The DPRK acceded to the UN Convention on Children's Rights in September, 1990.

Its ratification of the protocol is a demonstration of the government's policy of attaching importance to the children and a manifestation of its will to fulfill its commitment and promote international cooperation in the field of human rights.
