The concours which took place from Oct. 27 to Nov. 6 brought together more than 60 talented juvenile pianists from 22 countries and regions including the DPRK, Russia, Thailand, Germany and the UK.

The participants divided into group A under 13 and group B from 14 to 17 competed in three phases.

Ma admirably played music pieces requiring high artistic skills in the first and second phases of group A.

In the third phase, too, she successfully played compulsory piano concertos to the tune of orchestral music, winning high appreciation and praise of members of the jury and experts.

She was awarded the prize for the first place and the prize for the best player at the closing ceremony held on Nov. 6.
