Message of Thanks to Kim Jong Un from Yazov

Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, received a message of thanks from Marshal Dmitri Yazov, former minister of Defense of the Soviet Union, on Nov. 9.

In the message Yazov extended his heartfelt thanks to Kim Jong Un for sending a personal message, gift and the best floral basket on his 90th birthday.

I and my family were deeply moved by your special dispatch of a high-level delegation led by the minister of the People's Armed Forces of the DPRK, the message noted.

The message went on:

I set great store by the special relationship I had with leader Kim Jong Il.

You pay deep attention not only to me but to the development of the relations between Russia and the DPRK.

In the message Yazov once again extended his sincere thanks to Kim Jong Un.

The message sincerely wished Kim Jong Un good health and success in his work for building a thriving socialist nation true to the behest of Kim Jong Il.
