Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, chairwoman of the Founding Committee of the Soekarno Foundation for Education of Indonesia, was elected chairwoman of the memorial committee.

The committee set the days from November 3 to December 17 as a memorial period and decided to organize political and cultural events such as a remembrance meeting and seminar in the period.
