Ribbon Mosholi, vice-director of the International Department of the African National Congress of South Africa, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to publish works of Kim Jong Il and hold political and cultural events including a remembrance meeting, seminar, photo exhibition and film show on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of his demise.
