Henri Masico, department director of the Presidency of Uganda, was elected chairman of the committee.

The committee decided to publish Kim Jong Il's work "Socialism Is a Science" and hold political and cultural events including a seminar and photo exhibition on the occasion of the third anniversary of his demise.
