Typical of those songs is "My Mother" written by leader Kim Jong Il in his teens, which represents his ardent yearning for an anti-Japanese war hero, Kim Jong Suk, who cared so much for his growth in the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle and building a new country.

"Song of Woman" created more than half a century ago is still popular as it proudly sings the worthwhile life the Korean women have led after the country's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule.

Among the songs are "Woman Is Flower", "Love Your Wives", "Mother's Happiness", "Thought of Mother" and "Ode to Women in the Era of Songun (military-first)", which arouse deep reverence for women who are performing great feats for the country.
