S. Korean Organization Calls for Settlement of Issue of Sexual Slavery
Pyongyang, November 15 (KCNA) -- A lecture on the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army was given in Taejon, south Korea on Nov. 11 under the sponsorship of the Taejon Citizens Committee for Promoting Construction of Girl's Statue for Peace made up of 51 civic, social and religious organizations, according to the south Korean internet paper Thongil News.

Yun Mi Hyang, permanent representative of the Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps, in a lecture said that it is the very urgent task to settle the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army as well as the liquidation of the crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists.

This is related not only to the settlement of the past history but to human rights of women, war and peace, she said, adding:

It is meaningful to erect girl's statue which is symbolic of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army in Taejon next year marking the 50th anniversary of the humiliating agreement with Japan.
