November 20 Juche 79 (1990) saw the formation of Pomminryon consisting of Koreans from all walks of life in the north, the south and abroad and representing the will of all Koreans to reunify the country.

The 20 odd year-long history of Pomminryon is characterized by the patriotic cause in which all Koreans have positively pushed forward the movement for national reunification, united as one.

Pomminryon has waged indomitable struggles despite the vicious obstructive moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad. As a result, organizations under its umbrella were formed in every part of the world where Koreans live and their well-organized system was established. Pomminryon has grown to be a mass organization grouping compatriots from all walks of life.

It has left its remarkable traces in the efforts to arouse all Koreans to the drive for the great national unity and national reunification under the unfurled banner of the three charters for national reunification and the five-point policy for the great national unity.

It has made positive efforts to fulfill its mission and duty as a nationwide organization for the reunification movement under the uplifted banner of By Our Nation Itself after the adoption of the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

It is faced with a weighty yet honorable task to encourage all Koreans at home and abroad to turn out in the struggle to frustrate the anti-reunification forces' moves to escalate the confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north, defend and implement the north-south declarations and give continuity to the June 15 era.

The patriotic cause of Pomminryon is sure to triumph as supreme leader Kim Jong Un clearly indicates the way to be followed by the Korean nation and steers the cause of national reunification through his outstanding and experienced leadership.
