DPRK Strives to Secure Water Resources for Farming
|
|
Pyongyang, November 20 (KCNA) -- Co-op farms in the DPRK have turned out in a campaign to secure water resources for next year's farming. This year witnessed the severest drought in 100 years, which made the water level of reservoirs across the country stand at the lowest now. Under this situation, a work is going on in the countryside to build various-sized reservoirs to store running water. The co-op farms also concentrate efforts on securing water resources by giving full play to the groundwater tapping facilities. Meanwhile, big efforts are paid to repairing floodgates, embankments and waterways so as to save water as much as possible. |
