The Songun politics regards it as the most important issue of protecting the supreme interests of the state and basic interests of the revolution to defend the sovereignty and dignity of the country and nation, making it possible to resolutely counter any provocation and encroachment on them without any concession and compromise.

The reality in the world in which various countries and nations become subject to disgrace and turn into the theater of foreign forces' scramble for interests as they failed to build up strong military capabilities goes to prove that the Songun politics of the DPRK is a model of the independent politics.

The Bangladeshi paper Industry on Nov. 15 in an article titled "Legacy left by leader Kim Jong Il" said:
