Rodong Sinmun Urges S. Korean Authorities to Abandon Bad Habit of Escalating Confrontation with Compatriots
Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities should honestly reflect on their fickle and irresponsible actions with heavy remorse for the prevailing situation where they have scuppered the opportunity of improving the inter-Korea relations, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in an article.

It goes on:

This being a hard reality, the puppet authorities are working hard to pass the buck for the situation to the DPRK without any elementary reason and the slightest hesitation.

What they are doing now is unpardonable as they are blatantly challenging the DPRK's efforts to improve the inter-Korean relations after scuppering the above-said opportunity.

If they are concerned for mending the inter-Korean relations, they should pay heed to the DPRK's warnings and abandon their bad habit of pulling up fellow countrymen. The malignant mud-slinging and reckless confrontation prompted by extreme hostility towards fellow countrymen are the root cause of scuttling dialogue and contact and bringing the north-south relations to a catastrophe.

The inter-Korean relations can never improve unless the south Korean authorities decisively drop the bad habit of mud-slinging harmful to national reconciliation and the cause of the country's reunification.

It is an elementary courtesy and morality to respect the dialogue partner and stop reckless mud-slinging now that the north and the south reached an agreement on dialogue and contact though they were antagonistic and hostile to each other in the past.

If the south Korean authorities are truly concerned for repairing the inter-Korean relations, they should abandon the bad habit and refrain from doing anything contrary to the atmosphere of dialogue as they promised to have a high-level contact with the north.

We would like to urge them once again to cool their heads overheated with hysteria of confrontation with fellow countrymen and to be careful about their tongue lashing and behave themselves, to begin with.
