Rodong Sinmun Urges S. Korean Authorities Not to Forget Lesson from Yonphyong Island Shelling

Pyongyang, November 24 (KCNA) -- The south Korean puppet warmongers who had been anguished due to the nightmare of the ignominious defeat on Yonphyong Island are now desperately working to recover from it, says Rodong Sinmun Monday in an article. What matters is that the puppet warmongers' reckless confrontational racket on the five islands in the West Sea of Korea is pushing the north-south relations to an uncontrollable phase, the article says, and goes on: When the largest-ever Hoguk war drills targeting the DPRK were under way across south Korea recently, the puppet authorities held such anti-DPRK confrontational farce every day as a "rally for vowing punishment for provocations" allegedly to recover from their bitter defeat on Yonphyong Island, the heavy setback they sustained for making a preemptive attack. The large-scale joint landing drill in the area around Phohang was a deliberate move to chill the atmosphere of north-south dialogue and provoke a war against the north. The puppet forces who scuppered the hard-won atmosphere of improving the north-south relations are desperately kicking up the "human rights" racket against the DPRK in conspiracy with their U.S. master while getting frantic with military provocations in waters around the five islands in the West Sea. These are nothing but deliberate and premeditated scenario to escalate the tensions between the north and the south in a bid to provoke the second Yonphyong Island incident and develop it into an all-out war. The puppet military gangsters' reckless act to repeat the Yonphyong Island incident is as foolish an act as digging their own graves. Should the puppet forces unleash a war against the DPRK at any cost, oblivious of the lesson taught by the Yonphyong Island incident, they will perish in the flames kindled by themselves. |
