A member of the Central Committee of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar said:

HE Kim Jong Il was the leader and benevolent father of the Korean people and the world progressives as he devoted his all to the prosperity of the country, people's happiness and accomplishment of the cause of global independence.

He led the Korean revolution to the brilliant victory by carrying forward the idea and cause of President Kim Il Sung and firmly defended socialist Korea with his original Songun politics, smashing the vicious moves of hostile forces to stifle the DPRK.

His cause is being successfully carried forward by HE Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, and the Korean people are making world-startling successes in the drive for building a thriving socialist nation under his wise leadership.

The general president of a publishing house of Myanmar said that the exploits Kim Jong Il performed for the country's prosperity, people's happiness and the global peace and security would be immortal.
