The Central Tree Nursery under the Ministry of Land and Environment Protection has increased the production of saplings for afforestation after putting their production on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis.

This year alone, it carefully tended over hundred hectares of samplings despite severe drought. And it raised the rate of rooting by introducing advanced methods, thus overfulfilling its yearly production plan at 120 percent.

It sent saplings of Pinus strobes, Larix leptolepis, Zelkova and others to the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun as well as provinces, cities and counties.

Meanwhile, tree nurseries in different parts of the country are directing efforts to producing different kinds of saplings, making great contribution to turning the whole country into thick woodland and greenery.
