Rodong Sinmun Reveals Deceptive Nature of U.S. Ballad about "World without Nuclear Weapons"

Pyongyang, November 26 (KCNA) -- The U.S. decision to overhaul its nuclear weapons control system with huge fund amounting to 30 billion U.S. dollars has aroused great concern of the international community. The U.S. announcement of the plan to modernize nuclear weapons, an act going against the trend of the times, is a deception and mockery of human conscience desirous of peace, a commentary of Rodong Sinmun says Wednesday. The U.S. often calls for building the "world without nuclear weapons" but behind the scene it makes desperate efforts to modernize them, the news analyst says, and goes on: The U.S. has the world's biggest stockpile of nuclear weapons. It relies more heavily on nuclear weapons than dollars in realizing its ambition for world domination. In the "defense strategic report" the U.S. mentioned the need to maintain its nuclear arsenal until the "world without nuclear weapons" is built, and Obama cried out for keeping "secure and effective nuclear deterrence" under the state security strategy. Washington's plan for building the "world without nuclear weapons" is a plan for putting spurs to modernizing nuclear weapons, not the one aimed at nuclear disarmament. What should be taken serious is its loud talk about "nuclear threats" from the DPRK despite its call for the "world without nuclear weapons". By internationalizing the non-existent "nuclear threats" from the DPRK, the U.S. tries hard to divert elsewhere the world criticism of it. It is now set to pose nuclear threat and blackmail to the DPRK. It will be greatly mistaken if it thinks the DPRK will not take all-out counteraction to it. |
