He visited the university on November 26, Juche 102 (2013) and highly praised it for ensuring the designs of buildings listed as national treasures on the highest level and making achievements in designing many famous structures and training talents over the past six decades and bestowed such trust and honor upon the university as allowing it to register him as its honorary president.

Learning in detail about the work at the university several times, he personally guided the designs for laying out its new buildings and renamed it "Pyongyang University of Architecture."
