Chong was elected chairman of the committee. He paid the highest tribute to Kim Jong Il who devoted himself to the happiness of the Korean people and the defence of the sovereignty of the country.

The international community highly praises him as a prominent thinker and theoretician and the greatest man, the chairman said, adding:

Though HE Kim Jong Il passed away, he is always alive in the hearts of the progressive people for his undying exploits.
