Protests in U.S., Eruption of Anger over Human Rights Abuses

Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- A massive demonstration swept the U.S. on Nov. 24-25 after the Missouri State judicial authorities decided not to indict a white policeman who shot a young black man in Ferguson City to death in August. Major U.S. media reported that the demonstration was spilling over to all parts of the country, including New York and Los Angeles. Kim Hye Jong, a researcher of the International Affairs Institute in the DPRK, told KCNA that it was an eruption of anger at the U.S. administration, the worst human rights abuser in the world. She further said: The U.S. talks much about the protection of human rights, but serious racialism, a vivid expression of human rights violation, is encouraged there at the connivance of its government. It is a common practice in the U.S. for the judiciary to defend the white who killed the innocent black in the plea of "self-defensive". That's why such mass protests have lasted for more than three months after the death of a young black man, getting so violent that an emergency could not but be declared ahead of the grand jury's decision. It is just the U.S., styling itself a "human rights champion", that does not properly ensure even the safety of its citizens while failing to prevent racial discrimination practices. According to data released by the U.S. government, an average of 265 people is affected by gunshots every day, with 87 of them losing lives. 461 cases of death toll were reportedly caused by policemen's gunshots in 2013 alone. Nevertheless, the U.S is impudently making accusations against the DPRK where the human rights of popular masses are guaranteed in a responsible manner. The U.S., chieftain of evils, should be brought to the court of history without delay. This is the demand of the Americans and the world's humankind aspiring after justice and progress. |
