The appeal said:

December 17 in 2014 marks the 3rd anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il, eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

He was the great leader in the era of independence who devoted all his life to the development of the WPK, the happiness of the Korean people and the victorious advance of the global socialist cause with his extraordinary ideological and theoretical wisdom, outstanding leadership, indomitable will and warm love for the people.

The socialist cause in the DPRK started by President Kim Il Sung and led by Kim Jong Il is being successfully carried forward by Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the WPK, the Korean people are ushering in a heyday of Songun Korea, firmly convinced of the final victory, upholding the banner of independence, Songun and socialism.

Once again extending full support and solidarity to the WPK and the Korean people in their heroic struggle for building a thriving socialist nation, we ardently appeal to the communist parties, workers' parties and other progressive parties and organizations across the world to honor the memory of Kim Jong Il in the humblest reverence on December 17, the third anniversary of his demise, as he made undying contributions to the global socialist cause and the human cause of independence.
