An article praising his Songun leadership exploits was posted on the website, accompanied with photos of him among service personnel of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

The article said:

The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il started his Songun revolutionary leadership by inspecting the Seoul Ryu Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division of the KPA on Aug. 25, 1960.

This was an event of weighty significance which demonstrated his steel-strong will to defend the socialist cause, fighting against the imperialists to the end by force of arms.

The article recalled that he resolutely foiled the uninterrupted politically-motivated and military provocations including the incident of the U.S. spy ship Pueblo, Panmunjom incident and nuclear crisis in the 1990s, adding:

The U.S. has gone desperate in its moves to threaten the DPRK by force of arms and stifle it politically and economically after labeling it part of an "axis of evil" and a target of nuclear preemptive attack.

But the DPRK has become a power possessed of even strong nuclear strike means.

This is a great fruition of the extraordinary stratagem and steel-strong pluck of the invincible brilliant commander of Songun Comrade Kim Jong Il.

He passed away to our deepest regret but his exploits will be immortal along with the successful advance of Songun Korea and the cause of global independence.
