Not only the friendly Korean people but other progressive peoples and political parties in the world are honoring in the humblest reverence the memory of Kim Jong Il on the occasion of the third anniversary of his demise, the statement said, adding:

In his lifetime Kim Jong Il dedicated his all to the happiness of the Korean people, development of the Workers' Party of Korea and reunification of the country, and worked heart and soul to achieve the victory of the socialist cause and the cause of independence against imperialism.

He was, indeed, the greatest man recognized by the world, master of politics and benevolent father of all people.

An appeal was adopted at the 16th international meeting of communist and workers' parties held in Ecuador on holding memorial events on the third anniversary of his demise.

The Arab Socialist Party of Egypt will hold memorial events in response to it.
