On display at the venue of the meeting were works of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un and books introducing Songun Korea.

The participants observed a moment's silence in memory of Kim Jong Il.

At the meeting Sazhi Umalatova, chairwoman of the party, made a report to be followed by speeches.

December 17 this year marks the third anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il, she noted, adding:

He was the genuine leader of the people who dedicated his all to the prosperity of the country and their happiness.

In the most rigorous period when socialism collapsed in various countries and the U.S.-led imperialist allied forces went on the rampage by resorting to arbitrary practices, he established the original Songun political mode and firmly defended the banner of socialism while leading the Korean revolution.

His demise was the greatest loss to the Korean people and other progressives.

He will always be boundlessly revered by all peoples.
