The film deals with the noble spiritual world of persons of meritorious service who have performed feats in the drive for achieving the prosperity of the socialist homeland, cherishing Kim Jong Il's patriotism.

Among them are Kang Hye Gyong, lecturer of the Yuphyong Revolutionary Site in Changsong County, North Phyongan Province who remains loyal to the work for managing the revolutionary site with her family, Pak Yon Hwa, agitator of the Sindang Stockbreeding Cooperative Farm in Ichon County, Kangwon Province, whom the Workers' Party of Korea put forward as a model of genuine human beings in the era and Jong Jin Chol, manager of the Rajin Building Repair Office in Rason City, who is taking the lead in the efforts to build well his residential place and worksite.

The film also shows the true life and efforts of a management official in a rural village, nurse of a village clinic, ordinary educator and woman researcher who are rendering devoted services at their posts, whether they are known or appreciated or not, having the outlook on life that they would become the roots of the country.
