The statement said:

December 17 marks the third anniversary of demise of Comrade Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and the great leader of the Korean people.

He is the great leader who dedicated his whole life to the development of the Workers' Party of Korea, happiness of the Korean people and the victorious advance of the cause of global independence.

He performed undying feats on behalf of the times and history by guiding the revolution and construction to victory for many years with his gifted wisdom, distinguished ideas and theories and rare leadership ability.

The participants in the 16th international meeting ardently called on all the communist and workers' parties and other progressive parties to honor in humble reverence the memory of Kim Jong Il, who made undying contributions to the accomplishment of the cause of global socialism and the human cause of independence, on the occasion of his demise anniversary.

We will organize memorial events in a big and significant way, reflecting the Bangladeshi people's deep yearning for him.
