The secretary of the Regional Political Council of the Nakhodka City Branch said that Kim Jong Il was the great leader of the Korean people who made tireless efforts to provide the Korean people with prosperity and happiness and a defender of justice who firmly guaranteed the sovereignty of the country. His several visits to Russia tangibly contributed to the development of the Russia-DPRK relations. In particular, he paid deep attention to the development of economic cooperation with the far eastern region.

Christer Lundgren, chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association, noted in a speech:

Kim Jong Il provided a strong military deterrence by holding aloft the banner of the Songun revolution and thus protected the dignity and sovereignty of socialist Korea.

He was the veteran statesman recognized by the world who steered the struggle of the progressive people for advancing the cause of global independence.

The U.S. and its followers are keen on such foolish act as tarnishing the image of the DPRK after kicking off an unprecedented mad-cap "human rights" campaign against it.

However, the imperialists can never check the progressives' strong support and solidarity for the just struggle of the Korean people.
