Light Tower Rebuilding Protested in South Korea

| Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- The Joint Measure Committee for Checking Anti-DPRK Leaflet Scattering Operation and Construction of Aegibong Light Tower of south Korea consisting of the Pastors' Council for Justice and Peace, the People's Action for Peace against War, etc. held a press conference before the Defence Ministry building on Dec. 4 in protest against the military authorities' moves to rebuild the light tower. The measure committee accused the Defence Ministry of having decided on Dec. 2 to meet the request of the General Association of Christians for rebuilding the light tower and lighting ceremony on Christmas under the pretext of "ensuring religious activities." The measure committee demanded the Defence Ministry put an immediate halt to the rebuilding of the tower and the psychological warfare. It declared that the religious and public organizations desirous of peace would carry on their actions, in the future, too. |
