He saw that the 70-day campaign was conducted, and energetically led it in Juche 63 (1974).

Thanks to his experienced and tested leadership a heyday of prosperity was ushered in socialist construction and it was followed by the brilliant victory of the 100-day campaign to make a breakthrough in the drive for implementing the second seven-year plan ahead of schedule in 1978.

He held a consultative meeting of senior officials of the Organizational Leadership Department and the Propaganda and Agitation Department of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea in June 1982 and called for bringing about once again a fresh great upswing in the socialist construction just as what happened after the plenary meeting in December 1956.

He put up the slogan "Let us create the speed of the 80s in the spirit displayed during the great Chollima upswing!" and saw to it that the workers of the then Kim Chaek Iron Works kindled the first torch of the drive for creating the speed of the 80s and the field of metal industry made a breakthrough towards bringing about a new revolutionary surge.

He made sure that the workers of dressing plant No. 3 of the then Komdok General Mining Enterprise built it as a model in the drive for creating the speed of the 80s. He also successfully led production of the great oxygen separator and 10 000-ton press and the construction of the world's leading West Sea Barrage to bring about a great surge in the economic construction.

In February 1988 he saw to it that 200-day campaign was launched with the noble intention to celebrate the 40th founding anniversary of the DPRK as a grand festival of great victors and gave an instruction for leading the campaign to 2 000-day campaign and 20 000-day campaign.

He made sure that national meetings of different fields including the national meeting of farmers, the national meeting of innovators, the national meeting of activists in the building materials industry, the national meeting of activists in the filed of fishery and the national meeting of activists in the field of stockbreeding were significantly held to make the flames of great upswing rage furiously across the country.

In January 1998 he gave field guidance to Jagang Province with a far-sighted intention to kindle the flames of fresh revolutionary upsurge in Jagang Province which was dynamically pushing forward the construction of minor hydraulic power stations.

He saw to it that the Songgang torch rage furiously across the country, inspired by Kanggye spirit.

Giving field guidance to the Ranam Coal-mining Machine Complex in August 2001 he took a historic initiative calling on the entire party, state and all people to advance in the new century, holding high the torch of Ranam.

He unrolled a grand plan to glorify 2012 marking the centenary of birth of President Kim Il Sung as a year of proud victory noteworthy in the building of a thriving nation. He visited Kangson on Dec. 24, 2008 to kindle a torch of fresh revolutionary upsurge.

In 2009 alone he gave field guidance to more than 200 units across the country including the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex and the Songjin Steel Complex making the whole country seethe with a 150-day campaign and a 100-day campaign.

Indeed, an eternal foundation ensuring prosperity of the country and happiness of posterity was laid and a new era of the great Paektusan nation opened thanks to the devotion, efforts and heroic long journey of the prominent statesman and greatest leader who carried forward the tradition of ever-victory of the Juche revolution with the great history of great upsurge.
