Japan's Discrimination against Koreans Schools in Japan Protested
Pyongyang, December 9 (KCNA) -- The "citizens council for defending our school and children" grouping 16 civic and public organizations of south Korea held a press conference outside the Japanese embassy in Seoul on Dec. 5, urging the Japanese authorities to stop the discrimination against Korean schools in Japan, according to south Korean Yonhap News.

It said that the Japanese government excluded the Korean schools from the tuition-free program for senior high schools, adding this is the human rights abuse as it violates the Japanese Constitution and the international rules on human rights and the International Convention on the Rights of the Children.

It urged the Japanese government to stop the discrimination against the students of Korean schools and apply the tuition-free program to them, too.

Friday meetings of Koreans in Japan have taken place in protest against Japan's discrimination against the Korean schools, it said, calling for holding a meeting on Friday every week in solidarity with their struggle.
