Pyongyang, December 11 (KCNA) -- Events were held in different countries on the occasion of the third anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il. They included remembrance meetings and film shows in Sankt-Peterburg and Ulyanovsk, Russia and Tehran and a seminar on Kim Jong Il's exploits in Bratislava on December 3 and 4. Participants in the film shows watched Korean films including "Arms of Korea". The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Lenin Young Communist League of the Russian Federation said in his speech that Kim Jong Il was a great leader as he, born in the most revolutionary family, traveled a lot to mix with people and performed exploits for the Korean revolution and the cause of global independence by pursuing the Songun politics. The chairman of the "Jongilbong" Russia-Korea Friendship Association of Ulyanovsk Region of Russia noted that there are many leaders in the world but it was only Kim Jong Il who made ceaseless journeys of total dedication to the country and its people. He expressed belief that the Korean people would translate the desire of Kim Jong Il into a reality true to his behests and surely build a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. The president of the International Taekwon-Do Association in Iran stated that Kim Jong Il was a matchless great man and peerless patriot as he devoted his life to happiness of the Korean people and prosperity of the country. The chairman of the Slovakia-Korea Friendship Association said that the Songun politics pursued by Kim Jong Il put the dignity and might of the DPRK on the highest level, adding that the DPRK serves as beacon of hope not only for the adherents to the Juche idea but also for progressive mankind. |
