Kim Jong Il Remembered in China

Beijing, December 11 (KCNA) -- A meeting to remember leader Kim Jong Il took place in Beijing on Dec. 10. Displayed at the venue of the meeting were photos showing his revolutionary career and feats. The participants placed a floral basket and bunches of flowers before the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il before paying tribute to them. Zhang Jinlu, daughter of Zhang Wei-hua who is a Chinese anti-Japanese revolutionary martyr, said that Kim Jong Il performed feats by devoting his all to the prosperity of the DPRK and the happiness of the Korean people. The prosperity of the DPRK would be unthinkable apart from his feats, she noted. The son of Mr. Shang Yue, a Chinese related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, looked back on the loving care shown by Kim Jong Il for his family. Zhou Wei, daughter of Zhou Baozhong, a Chinese related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, said: I was surprised and bitterly grieved to hear the sad news of the demise of Kim Jong Il three years ago. At the memorial service held in Pyongyang, I felt the determination and will of the Korean people to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem forever and build a thriving nation true to his behests, rallied close around Marshal Kim Jong Un. The son of Li Zade, an anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter in China; Chai Long, a great-grandson of Chai Shiying who is a Chinese related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle; Liu Xiaohua, daughter of Liu Hanxing who is also a Chinese related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, said that they were struck with admiration at the successes being achieved in the DPRK. The son of Feng Zhongyun, a Chinese related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle, praised Kim Jong Il for developing in depth the Juche idea fathered by the President and further strengthening and developing the Workers' Party of Korea, the DPRK and its army. It was attended by the bereaved families of anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters in China, Chinese anti-Japanese revolutionary martyrs and Chinese related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and DPRK ambassador to China and staff members of the embassy. |
