Rodong Sinmun Accuses Japan of Tampering with History
Pyongyang, December 13 (KCNA) -- It was reported that the Foreign Ministry of Japan recently "urged" the U.S. to rewrite world history textbooks for public high schools in Los Angeles City and areas around it in California State.

The part of textbooks dealing with the Second World War says that the Imperial Japanese Army forcibly enlisted and drafted 200,000 women aged 14-20 to make them serve at comfort stations and that some of the comfort women were killed while trying to flee.

Japan claimed that the textbooks were written in such manner that there was forcible drafting of women at that time, terming it a "sheer lie."

Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes in a commentary in this regard: This is a shameless behavior mocking and challenging history.

As far as the drafting of sexual slaves for the Imperial Japanese Army is concerned, it was not just forcible drafting but a crime committed by the Japanese army against humanity as the sexual slavery was organized and enforced by it at the point of bayonet.

All the facts have been proved by testimonies made by survivors and materials discovered in different parts of the world.

The increased frenzy on the part of the Japanese ruling quarters to distort history will only bring into bolder relief their moral frustration and danger of revived militarism.

The Japanese ruling quarters had better stop at once distorting history as it is little short of spitting at their faces. Otherwise, they will scupper the future of Japan.
