The secretary of the Regional Political Council of the Maritime Territorial Branch of the Russian party said that Kim Jong Il devoted himself to the people's well-being and happiness and the country's prosperity.

He went on:

It is thanks to Kim Jong Il's tested leadership that the DPRK is now widely known as the country strong in independence in the international arena.

A series of his visits to Russia provided the firm foundation for significantly boosting the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries.

I wish the Korean people bigger successes in their struggle for building a thriving nation.

A secretary general of the Union Solidarity and Development Party of Myanmar said:

Kim Jong Il was the great statesman and father of the people who developed the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) into the iron-willed party and Juche-type revolutionary party with his outstanding ideas and theories and into the mother party serving the people deeply rooted among them by successfully applying President Kim Il Sung's idea of believing in people as in Heaven.

We will further develop friendship, cooperation and exchange with the WPK and always stand together with the Korean people in the common struggle for building an independent world.
