Recalling with deep emotion the feats performed by him on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of his demise, the statement said:

Kim Jong Il was the great successor to President Kim Il Sung.

He was an outstanding thinker and theoretician and invincible and iron-willed commander as he further developed and enriched the Juche idea founded by the President and pursued Songun politics, treasured sword for defending the dignity of the DPRK.

He gave top priority to the issue of people's living in his thinking and activities and made long journeys for field guidance despite rain or snow.

It was thanks to his Songun politics that socialist Korea had access to powerful nuclear deterrence and could avert a war on the Korean Peninsula and, at the same time, open a new chapter for national reunification through the adoption of the historic June 15 North-South Joint Declaration.

Marshal Kim Jong Un is leading the Korean people in their drive for building a thriving nation, true to the last instructions of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
