US Paper on Encroachment on Freedom of Speech in S. Korea

Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- The Washington Post on Dec. 11 reported that the freedom of speech is being encroached upon in south Korea. The Park Geun Hye regime of south Korea is opting for taking actions against media releasing reports unfavorable to it, the paper said. Park Geun Hye is a daughter of Park Chung-Hee who wrested power through a military coup, it noted, adding the political freedom of citizens including the freedom of speech was suppressed by the past military dictatorial regimes. It recalled that media persons of south Korea were indicted as they reported about documents on tendency of Jong Yun Hoe which was worked out at the chief secretary room for official discipline of Chongwadae and asserted that he had great influence on the state affairs directly linked with Park Geun Hye. Saying that a media person was indicted for raising skepticism about what Park Geun Hye did right after the occurrence of the ferry Sewol accident, it noted these facts go to prove what type chief executive she is. |
