Displayed at the venues of the events were photos showing his revolutionary career and exploits.

Korean film "Pyongyang Today" was shown.

Present at the events were members of the leadership of the organization and representatives of the political parties of different countries residing in Cuba.

Addressing the events, the secretary general of the organization said:

We again look back on the undying exploits of Kim Jong Il, eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, on the occasion of the third anniversary of his demise.

He reliably defended the national sovereignty, carrying forward the cause of Comrade Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea.

He was the greatest man who beat back the outrageous moves of the imperialists for invasion of the DPRK late in the last century at a time when socialism collapsed in some countries, and protected the dignity of the DPRK.

The progressive people all over the world pay highest tribute to him for his great contributions to the cause of global independence.
