High Tribute Paid to Kim Jong Il in Humblest Reverence
Pyongyang, December 17 (KCNA) -- The whole country most solemnly honored the memory of leader Kim Jong Il on Wednesday, the third anniversary of his demise.

Many service personnel, working people and school youth and children visited the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on the greatest memorial day of the nation.

They paid tribute to the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Lots of people visited the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and portraits depicting their smiling images in different parts of the country.

Memorial events were held across the country.

There took place remembrance concerts by artistes in North Hwanghae, South Hamgyong provinces and other places.

The performers praised the sacred career and immortal exploits of Kim Jong Il who was born in Mt. Paektu, the sacred mountain of the revolution, as a son of the guerillas and devoted his all to the accomplishment of the revolutionary cause of Songun for decades.

Artistes in Jagang Province also gave a remembrance concert "The General Will Live Forever as the Sun" in which they sang of the world of his devotion as he put forward the people in Jagang Province as creators of the Kanggye spirit and opened the new history of a turn.

Workers, members of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea and the Democratic Women's Union of Korea and youth and students in South Hwanghae Province and other parts of the country touched strings in the people's hearts through remembrance concerts.

Youth and students in South Hamgyong Province held a remembrance stage "The General and Flames of Hamnam" and talked about the unforgettable days when Kim Jong Il kindled the flames of Hamnam and showed loving care for the people.

In Ryanggang Province a remembrance meeting of persons who had the honor of being received by Kim Jong Il and those related to his revolutionary activities took place to convey stories and revolutionary anecdotes left by him in the days of field guidance.

Oath-taking meetings of workers, agricultural workers, members of the women's union and youth and students took place across the country.
