Meeting for Remembering Kim Jong Il Held at Embassy in Moscow

Moscow, December 18 (KCNA) -- A remembrance meeting took place at the DPRK embassy in Moscow on Dec. 16 on the occasion of the third anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il. Present there were D.T. Yazov, former Defense minister of the Soviet Union, Iosif Kovzon, first vice-chairman of the Cultural Committee of the State Duma, Vladimir Churov, chairman of the Central Election Committee, Vladimir Yakoblev, chairman of the Federation of Builders of Russia who is former mayor of Sankt-Peterburg City, Polikovsky, the former presidential envoy to the Far East Region of Russia, Matsegora, vice department director of the Foreign Ministry, Sazhi Umalatova, chairwoman of the Party for Peace and Unity, and other personages of government, political parties and organizations including the Ministry of Interior and the 21st Century Orchestra. Kim Hyong Jun, DPRK ambassador to Russia, and staff members of his embassy were present there. The participants laid a floral basket and bouquets before the full-length painting of President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and paid tribute to them. Then they looked round photos on display on the theme of "The great Comrade Kim Jong Il will live forever." They observed a moment's silence in the memory of Kim Jong Il. Those who had the honor of being received by him made speeches at the meeting. The speakers recollected the significant days when they were received by Kim Jong Il, adding that they were greatly admired by his noble personality and profound knowledge about all fields. They noted that the DPRK emerged a space power, nuclear power under so great difficulties thanks to his iron-willed grit and will and warm love for the people. Kim Jong Il always lives in the hearts of not only the Korean people but of the Russian people, they added. They expressed conviction that the traditional Russia-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations would grow stronger under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un. |
