Memorial Service for Kim Jong Il Held by Koreans in China
Pyongyang, December 19 (KCNA) -- A memorial service of the General Association of Koreans in China was held in Shenyang, China on Dec. 16 to commemorate the third anniversary of demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

Floral baskets were placed by the general association and organizations under the association before the portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il at the conference hall of the association.

It was attended by officials of the association, representatives of organizations under it, Korean nationals in Shenyang, lecturers group of veteran soldiers of the Chinese People's Volunteers, the Association of Korean Elders in Shenyang and members of various other organizations and the consul-general of the DPRK in Shenyang.

The participants paid silent tribute to Kim Jong Il.

Choe Un Bok, chairwoman of the association, said in her memorial address:

Reverberating far and wide are songs of boundless reverence, songs of yearning sung by all service personnel and people on the occasion of the third anniversary of demise of Kim Jong Il, missing him very much who passed away on a running train while making high-intensity forced march to mix with people till the last moments of his life.

It is great fortune and honor of the Korean nation to hold Marshal Kim Jong Un, another outstanding great man, in high esteem as supreme leader, she said, adding that thanks to him Kim Jong Il will always live in the hearts of Koreans while the Juche revolutionary cause will make a triumphant advance.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the service.

At the end of the service the participants watched a Korean film dealing with the undying feats of Kim Jong Il.

A photo exhibition was held on the same day.
