President Kim Il Sung unfolded the plan of building the Orangchon Power Station to solve the electricity problem in the province.

Leader Kim Jong Il, with desire to translate the President's noble intention into reality, visited the construction site of the power station several times including the one in May, Juche 99 (2010) when he underscored the need to build the power station in the best quality to be impeccable in the future as it was a valuable wealth to hand down to posterity.

Present at the opening ceremony were Pak Pong Ju, O Su Yong, Ro Tu Chol, officials concerned, builders, employees of the power station and working people in Orangchon County.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants looked round the power station.
